Combined Sections Meeting

Combined Sections Meeting

Important message about CSM:

This is already been shared with you all but I think it’s a message worth reiterating. We remain concerned about attendees who assume that preselection is a seat guarantee. As you all know, it is not, so in an attempt to minimize disappointment and to encourage the selection of alternatives, please consider giving this information some play.

While we’re on this subject, a word on at capacity sessions. The list of sessions that are currently at capacity are listed below. Several of you have asked, exactly, what this means. At the beginning of the registration process, we shared a list of sessions, their assigned rooms and the capacity of those rooms with Spargo. As folks preselected courses, seats were claimed. Once registrants claimed all available seats, we marked the session “at capacity.” In some cases, we moved the sessions to larger rooms. In two specific cases, we ticketed sessions to test drive the plan for future years. These were not options in all cases. For example, a Sports session is on this list. There is no larger home. It must stay where it is. Our goal here is to better prepare registrants to navigate CSM, encourage them to identify other sessions of interest and to minimize disappointment onsite by forewarning them of unavailability.
