Despite the terrible blizzard, there was standing room only at the DDSIG programming at CSM 2007 in Boston. This was not surprising due to the quality of the presenters and the importance of the content. The DDSIG leadership would like to thank Susan Bennett, PT, EdD, NCS, MSCS and David Lehman PT, PhD for their excellent presentations. Drs. Bennett and Lehman presented on the "Evaluation and Treatment of Balance and Gait Disorders in Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease". 2006
The DDSIG programming at CSM 2006 held in San Diego this past Feburary was truly outstanding. A panel discussion on “Intervention Issues in Degenerative Disease: A Case-Based Approach” presented at the DDSIG Meeting on Friday afternoon was very well attended. Panel experts Bill Werner, PT, EdD, Peggy Ingels, PT, Sue Imbriglio, PT and Herb Karpatkin PT, MS, NCS discussed specific evidence-based interventions for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases. Bill’s case presentation focused on interventions to improve gait and promote retention in people with Parkinson’s Disease. Peggy’s talk addressed interventions to alleviate painful adhesive capsulitis in individuals with ALS. [Read More]

Anne Dillman Kloos, PT, PhD, NCS, DD SIG Vice Chair, led the SIG round table topic, “Assessment and Intervention Issues in Late-Stage/End Stage Degenerative Diseases,” on Saturday. Our round table was well attended and was highlighted by the many personal and professional experiences shared.
