The Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy Board of Directors has begun the search for a new Editor in Chief (EIC) of The Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy (JNPT). The new EIC will formally assume the role of EIC in January 2025 (April 2025 edition) but may begin a training period with the current EIC at an earlier date.
The JNPT is the primary peer-reviewed, indexed resource for advancing neurologic physical therapy practice through the dissemination of definitive evidence, translation of clinically relevant knowledge, and integration of theory into education, practice and research. The Impact Factor of JNPT is consistently ranked in the top quartile of all Rehabilitation journals by Journal Citation Reports.
Applicants need to:
Be a recognized thought leader in neurorehabilitation and/or neuroscience
Understand the overall impact of a high-quality journal on the advancement of health care and improvement of patient care
Understand the impact of a high-quality journal on the advancement of rehabilitation and the physical therapy profession—including specific influences on knowledge base, evidence base, education, and clinical practice
Demonstrate a commitment to furthering all areas of research-clinical, translational, health services, cost-effectiveness and basic sciences
Place a high value on engaging an international readership and understand the growing importance of social media in scholarly publishing
