Call to Action

The Director of Research and members of the Research Committee of the Neurology Section have been charged by the Neurology Section Board of Directors with organizing a Strategic Planning Meeting that will develop priorities and strategies that will guide the direction of research-related activities of the Neurology Section.

The goals of the Neurology Section Research Strategic Planning Meeting are to:
 
1. Develop a vision and mission statement to advance neurologic physical therapy research;
2. Establish goals and action plans to implement the vision and mission;
3. Define strategies for evaluation of the strategic plan

We are seeking input from a wide variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to: basic scientists, clinical scientists, PhD students and expert clinicians, APTA and Foundation for Physical Therapy representatives.

The goal is to have representation from a variety of geographical areas, specialty areas, types of institutions/clinical settings and to have persons at different stages of their career.

Interested persons should complete the application and return it to Sandy Rossi, Executive Officer, Neurology Section (sandyrossi@apta.org). Application deadline is February 1, 2011. Applications will be reviewed and a task force of participants will be selected and invited by March 1, 2011.  The commitment of this task force is only for the strategic planning meeting dates of April 29-30, 2011.

The Neurology section will reimburse travel (roundtrip, coach class ticket purchased >2 weeks prior) and lodging expenses for two nights.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all participants.

Time: 8am Friday, April 29th until 1pm Saturday April 30th
