Why Are You Running For This Position?

I have been dedicated to serving the brain injury population for the past 9 years, both as a clinician and through research opportunities. I sat for the NCS and am completing a DHS degree in order to better serve the neurological population. I feel that we have entered into a window of opportunity for the brain injury population, and see the BI SIG as an important avenue to connect professionals, educators and researchers to better serve this population.  I have worked within RIC to bridge the research and clinical departments and promote evidence-based practice in the clinic.  I hope that these experiences and my ability to reach out to available resources will assist in further developing a sustainable network of motivated, passionate professionals interested in participating in the BI SIG.  I am strongly interested in this position that will allow me the opportunity to contribute to the APTA as a whole, but specifically for a population that I am passionate about.

The Section would like to extend a special thanks to all of the partnering organizations that have joined in to make the organization an invaluable resource for information, tools, and support for the population we serve.
