Why Are You Running For This Position?
I am running for this position because I am interested in serving the memberships need as well as engaging others to serve the Neurology Section and APTA at large, as it is through getting involved that we seek the best in ourselves and ultimately find the best in others. My diverse roles as an educator, clinician, supervisor and administrator have provided me the opportunity to grow as a professional. It is through these experiences that I have learned to appreciate the need to utilize diverse methods of communicating and interacting with others in order to engage one's potential to continue to advance as a professional. I have enjoyed the various opportunities that I have had already to collaboratively work with my colleagues on various APTA endeavors with the overriding goal of enhancing clinical practice. People who have interacted with me would suggest that I am a person who sees the bigger picture, motivates others, gently leads, is organized and able to prioritize but also knows her weakness. In understanding my weaknesses I seek out colleagues who complement those weaknesses in the hopes of reaching a successful end destination but, truly believe it is all about the journey taken and not so much about the destination.
