Has presented at APTA national and state conferences, as well as local education conference in Kansas and South Carolina; co-author of 5 poster presentations; participated in clinical research at Ft. Hays State University, Clemson University and Gentiva Health services. Publication of 2 clinical abstracts in professional publications

Previous Involvement in the Neurology Section:

Member of the Neurology Section for greater than 15 years and has been a part of the Balance and Falls SIG since it's redevelopment in 2006 serving as member and chair of the SIG nominating committee and currently serving as secretary; also a member of the Geriatric Section, Home Health Section and Cardiopulmonary Section and past member of the HPA section; as a member of South Carolina chapter and past member of the Kansas chapter of the APTa has assisted with several legislative initiatives to support and promote the ethical practice of physical therapy

Why Are You Running For This Position?

As a dedicated member of the Balance & Falls SIG, I feel I have the necessary leadership skills and committment necessary to move the SIG forward in meeting the needs of Section and SIG members and achieving our goals for the next 3 years. Having served the SIG for the past 5 years in a variety of capacities I can also provide support for and mentor new officers and members of the SIG.

The Section would like to extend a special thanks to all of the partnering organizations that have joined in to make the organization an invaluable resource for information, tools, and support for the population we serve.
