Members Mentoring Members

The Neurology Section Mentoring Program

A valuable benefit of Neurology Section membership is the ability to network with individuals who have similar experiences, and with experts in the field. To facilitate this process the Section has partnered with APTA's Members Mentoring Members (MMM) program. This program helps protégés find appropriate mentors by searching a database of therapists who have agreed to advise others. New key words have been added to the MMM search feature to better target the needs of Neurology Section members. Members can search for mentors to seek advice or establish a more formal relationship. Section volunteers may assist protégés with finding the help that they need.

To search for a mentor:

  1. click on the folloing link, www.apta.org/mentoring and on Search the Mentor Directory
  2. select area of expertise (e.g., "neurology", "research", "leadership", etc.)
  3. customize your search by adding key words to your query

Become a mentor! We would like to enrich our database of mentors by adding YOUR name and expertise! To enroll as a mentor, complete a simple on-line application which includes areas of expertise and a personal statement. Key words are derived from the personal statement so that protégés can refine their search. Reviewing the current list of key words at www.apta.org/mentoring and including relevant topics in your application will help you to be found! You will be entered into the database, and always have the option to accept or decline the request of a protégé.
