Consumer Information

Welcome to the Neurology Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. The Neurology Section consists of over 4000 members and provides a forum for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students who have a common interest in the prevention and treatment of impairment and disability related to neurologic injury and diseases. The Neurology Section is committed to facilitating advances in clinical practice, education, and research, which reflect the needs of Section members as well as the public.

In most states, you can make an appointment with a physical therapist directly, without a physician referral. The American Physical Therapy Association at offers a consumer service called Find a PT. Find a PT allows you to search a national database of physical therapist members of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for the exclusive purpose of finding a physical therapist who is right for you.
