Clinical Excellence in Education Award (New This Year!)
Purpose: To acknowledge and honor a member of the Neurology Section who is a gifted and creative clinician. The awardee spends a majority of their time in an academic setting but continues to treat patients and develop strategies for intervention that directly affect patient care.
Eligibility / Criteria: The individual must:
- Be a current member of the Neurology Section, APTA
- Have been engaged primarily in direct clinical care for at least 5 years with a primary focus of practice to the neurologic population.
- Have contributed to the overall development of physical therapy as an autonomous, caring and scientific profession. Excellence in clinical education may be demonstrated through teaching, writing, presentations and mentoring others.
- Be involved in mentoring activities to disseminate clinical expertise (i.e., supervising PT students, teach staff PTs, etc.)

Service to the Section
Purpose: To acknowledge and honor a member of the Neurology Section whose contributions to the Section have been of exceptional value.
Eligibility / Criteria: The individual must:
- Be a current member of the Neurology Section, APTA.
- Have participated actively in the Neurology Section and given generously and willingly of their time and effort for a minimum of three years.
- Have served as a committee member or chair, SIG member or officer, task force member or chair, or as a member of the Executive Committee of the Neurology Section.
- Have demonstrated valuable service to the Section through leadership, personal influence, achievements, or frequent and sustained work towards the development and enhancement of the Section.

Clinical Excellence in Neurology
Purpose: To acknowledge and honor a member of the Neurology Section whose major professional involvement is currently with the practice of neurologic physical therapy.
Eligibility / Criteria: The individual must:
- Be a current member of the Neurology Section, APTA.
- Have been engaged in full-time clinical practice for at least five (5) years with a primary focus of service to neurologic patients.
- Be currently treating neurologic patients.
- Be involved in mentoring activities to disseminate clinical expertise (i.e., supervising PT students, teach staff PTs, etc.)
- Have contributed to the overall development of physical therapy as a caring and scientific profession through clinical research or case studies, presentation at continuing education, inservices or conferences, program development.

Excellence in Neurologic Research
Purpose: To acknowledge and honor a member of the Neurology Section who has demonstrated continuing excellence in research related to neurologic physical therapy science, theory, practice, or education.
Eligibility / Criteria: The individual must:
- Be a current member of the Neurology Section, APTA.
- Have demonstrated continued and ongoing research activity over a period of no less than four years.
- Have conducted research that served to develop and/or clarify neurologic principles related to the practice of physical therapy.
- Have reported these findings via oral presentations and publications in refereed journals.
